Each year, TAPS provides transit advertising space to charity events to be auctioned off to benefit non-profit organizations. The auction item is for cost of media space only, and the successful bidder pays the actual cost of signage production and installation.
One of this year’s recipients is Child and Guidance Center of Texoma. At their biggest fundraiser this year, the TAPS-provided advertising space earned the top bid of the auction at $9,000. The retail value of the transit ad space for one year is $7,200.
Webb Sanderson, owner of Webb’s Electric Heating and Air Conditioning in Sherman was the successful bidder at the Starfish Benefit on Saturday, September 27.
Since 1966, the Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma has been dedicated to providing troubled and hurting Texoma children and families affordable, high quality mental healthcare regardless of their ability to pay. CFGC is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization and mental health charity that receives funding from United Way of Grayson County, generous local businesses, foundations, individuals, special fundraising events, Medicaid and CHIP insurance, some private insurance plans, and client fees.
Dan Acree is manager, Office of Communications and Marketing for TAPS. “It’s gratifying to know that our agency is responsible for adding $9,000 to the Child and Family Guidance Center’s budget this year,” said Acree. “We designate a fixed amount of transit advertising space annually to help promote organizations and their events, and as auction items that help bring in big dollars.”
