TAPS Public Transit was named best in its class by the South West Transit Association (SWTA) at the trade group’s annual marketing conference in Norman, Okla. this week. The Sherman TX agency took first place for a campaign created to promote the expanded Viking Route.
“The judges recognized the creativity and quality of the work done by TAPS,” said Kristen Joyner, executive director, SWTA. “This is their first time to enter our competition and for our membership to see their work.”
Attending the conference were TAPS representatives Tim Patton, COO; Dan Acree, Manager of Communications and Marketing; Ronald Fuquay, Senior Media Specialist; and Jacob Hoffman, Video Media Specialist.
Dan Acree said the award was validation for his department. “You always want to know where you stand with other agencies like your own,” said Acree. “It can be a learning experience just to see what other transit agencies do with their budgets and their staffs. Knowing that our submission was at the top of the mark is gratifying.”
SWTA is a regional transit association serving eight states – Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.
