KLAK-FM 97.5 morning show host Allen Fremont, hosted TAPS Public Transit CEO Brad Underwood on his show Friday, January 31. Fremont interviewed Underwood about the recent expansion of TAPS service into Collin County.

TAPS began providing service for Collin County on July 1, 2013. A few weeks later, the City of McKinney hired TAPS to operate its city fixed route service. Then, in November, the City of Allen signed a similar agreement for TAPS to operate a bus service in its city limits.

Fremont asked Underwood what the future holds for TAPS in Collin County. “Connecting north and south is a key initiative,” said Underwood. “At the moment, you can take a TAPS bus from as far north as Durant, Oklahoma, make a connection, and go to the DART light rail station in Plano. From there, the possibilities are unlimited.”

Underwood says he is very comfortable being on radio and TV. “My generation is media aware. I know the value of reaching people through all forms of media —televise, radio, and online,” said Underwood.
