Yesterday (Wed. October 21) the TAPS board of directors met for about 7 hours to continue discussing how we are going to deal with the current financial crisis. In the end —and soon— service must be reduced to live within the budget.
The big question: How can we deliver the most service for the money?
The board voted to allow me and my staff to work out the details on what services will be reduced. It encouraged us to work closely with our partner cities and to be sensitive to the needs of each community.
I want to invite you to attend one of the meetings we have set to outline our plans and to get public feedback.

I hope that you can attend the meeting in your area. We want to layout our plans and answer your questions to the best of our ability.
If you need a ride to the meeting, please call (800) 256-0911. We are trying to schedule enough buses to provide a ride for everyone who wants to attend. We can’t serve everyone, but if you let us know as soon as possible, we may be able to get you on one of those buses. Be sure to tell the call center agent that you want to check on open sets to get to a public meeting.
