Public Transportation Available in the City of McKinney

TAPS provides three types of public transportation for the City of McKinney.

  • Regular intercity bus service with designated stops and departure times on Seven routes: Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow, Purple, Red/Gold and Gold/Red Routes. These routes run Sunday-Saturday, 5:00am to 10:00pm. For more information, please visit this page.
  • The City of McKinney Commuter Connect offers service from the TAPS Gateway Blvd. Park & Ride to DART’s Parker Road Station in Plano where connections can be made for buses and light rail. For more information, please visit this page.

Get-a-Ride Service

get-a-ride_stacked-200TAPS Public Transit’s Get-a-Ride service provides on-demand, shared-ride, curb-to-curb, public transportation in McKinney. The service runs Monday-Friday with the earliest available pickup time at 6:00 am and the latest available pickup time at 5:30 pm. TAPS does not provide service in Collin County on Saturday or Sunday.

You may schedule a ride to keep a medical appointment, go shopping, attend an event, for any reason. But, you must schedule your ride at least 2 business days in advance, and you must meet the eligibility requirements.

Only trips to get to/from work, or to keep a medical appointment, will be scheduled for pick up from 7:00 am-9:00 am and 3:00 pm-5:00 pm. To learn more about this rule, read here.
