TAPS now provides public transportation to these Collin County communities:
TAPS Public Transit operates on-demand curb-to-curb public transportation for Collin County Rural Areas and for the City of McKinney. TAPS buses run Monday-Friday with the earliest available pickup time at 6:00am and the latest available pickup time at 5:30pm. TAPS does not provide service in Collin County on Saturday or Sunday. TAPS also provides city bus service in the City of McKinney.
TAPS Will Coordinate Trips in Plano for Riders
In the past, CCART has taken riders to Plano, Richardson and parts of Dallas (within the Collin County borders). We know that many destinations for medical appointments are in Plano. TAPS vehicles will not be allowed to pick up or deliver in Plano.
However, TAPS Public Transit will be able to connect you to a provider who can take you and pick you up in Plano. To be connected to the authorized transportation provider for Plano, you may still call (800) 256-0911 and a TAPS Rider Services Representative will redirect your call to someone who can set up and schedule your trip in Plano.
The only exception to this rule is to allow TAPS Public Transit to continue its express commuter service from Sherman and McKinney to DART’s Parker Road Station in Plano.
If you are a Medicaid Recipient
If you receive Medicaid in the State of Texas, you may be able to get transportation through the state’s Medicaid Medical Transportation services.
