TAPS Public Transit operates Get-a-Ride on-demand, curb-to-curb, public transportation for Collin County Rural Areas, the City of McKinney and the City of Frisco.
TAPS Get-a-Ride service runs Monday-Friday with the earliest available pickup time at 6:00 am and the latest available pickup time at 5:30 pm. TAPS does not provide on-demand service in Collin County on Saturday or Sunday.
To schedule a trip with the Get-a-Ride service, you must make your reservation not less than 2 business days before your trip. Read more about this rule here.
Only trips for getting to/from work, or a medical appointment, can scheduled for pick up between 7:00 am-9:00 am and 3:00 pm-5:00 pm. Read more about this rule here.
TAPS also provides regularly scheduled, fixed route, city bus service in the City of McKinney and the City of Allen.
TAPS will Coordinate Trips in Plano for Riders
We know that many destinations for medical appointments are in Plano. TAPS vehicles are not allowed to pick up, or deliver, in Plano.
However, TAPS Public Transit will be able to connect you to a provider who can take you and pick you up in Plano. To be connected to the authorized transportation provider for Plano, you may still call (800) 256-0911 and a TAPS Rider Services Representative will redirect your call to someone who can set up and schedule your trip in Plano.
If you are a Medicaid Recipient
If you receive Medicaid in the State of Texas, you may be able to get transportation through the state’s Medicaid Medical Transportation services.
