TAPS Public Transit will open a fleet operations and maintenance facility in Wichita Falls this month. The facility will be located at 1201 West Scott Avenue at 12th Street. The new facility is near the Wichita Falls Travel Center.
The facility will provide a hub that will serve several counties in TAPS’s west Texas service area.
TAPS Regional General Manager Matt Hunt said the location centralizes vehicle storage, a maintenance and repair center, and a office for drivers. “As we develop our expanded service area into Wichita, Archer, Foard, Hardeman and Cottle counties it’s important that we have a base of operations that is convenient.”
Hunt also announced the promotion of Chris Knight as Assistant General Manager for the west region. Knight will be responsible for the day to day operation of the facility.
