Each year in communities across TAPS’s seven county service area, the regional transportation agency facilitates getting people to various important events. One of those is in the community of Pottsboro, where TAPS provides shuttle service for guests and volunteers at the Boot Scootin’ Ball.
Betty Roether is on the Boot Scootin’ Ball organizing committee and has worked with TAPS Public Transit over the past four years to provide shuttle service to and from the event. “TAPS has been key to the operations of this big event,” said Roether. “Not only does TAPS make it easy and convenient for guests to use remote parking and avoid congestion at the event venue, but getting volunteers to the event has been a huge service.”
Brad Underwood, TAPS CEO and Executive Director, said the partnership with Pottsboro’s preeminent fundraiser has been important in raising the profile of the regional transportation service. “We get a chance to show people what TAPS can do in the community,” said Underwood. “The Boot Scootin’ Ball hosts a broad audience of community leaders, activists and others who are important stakeholders in our agency.”
