Ten new buses hit the road this month. Custom manufactured by Glaval the heavy-duty buses are built on the legendary Ford E450 platform.
Brad Underwood, chief executive officer and executive director, TAPS Public Transit, said the timing could not be better. “The heat has been hard on our fleet this summer and putting these new buses on the road will make a real difference in keeping our routes moving and on schedule.”
It takes about two weeks to get a bus on the road after delivery. Paperwork, safety checks, and necessary signage are all part of the make-ready process.
The current delivery of vehicles bring the total TAPS fleet to 180.
